It houses ancient ruins and holy temples as well as picturesque colonial towns and bustling cosmopolitans. On this 12-day guided tour, take in the exquisite variety of this tropical paradise.

Cover most parts of the Cultural Triangle as you make your way across world heritage sites of Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, and Kandy in the center of the country. Anuradhapura is an ancient city with a vast network of Buddhist temples, monasteries, and places of worship.

At Dambulla, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Then climb the formidable Sigiriya rock fortress, named the eighth wonder of the world by UNESCO. At Kandy, visit one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the world, the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses a tooth of Buddha.

Along the way, gain a deeper understanding of the Sri Lankan way of life as you explore Hiriwaduna Village in a catamaran and take the local train from Kandy to Haputale.

Take in the diverse natural beauty of the country as you search Udawalawe National Park for herds of elephants and sail across Pigeon Island and its unmatched coral reef.

  • Arrival in Negambo
Our representative will meet you at Bandaranayake International Airport and drop you to your hotel in Negombo. In case you do go out on an excursion, you will travel to Negombo for a fun city tour and get the chance to visit a local fish market at the beach (the fish market is closed on Sundays and on public holidays).
  • Anuradhapura
3 Star Hotel at Alakamanda or similar After your breakfast, head out to Sri Lanka's ancient capital Anuradhapura. On the way visit Sri Maha Bhodiya and Isurumuniya. Sri Maha Bodhiya is a sacred tree that is regarded as the oldest living human-planted tree in the world with known planting date. The tree was planted in the year 288 BC.
